Your dentist for South Auckland, right at the airport
If you live in South or Central Auckland, the airport might be the easiest place to see a dentist. Supertooth Dental sits inside the Auckland Airport Shopping Centre, a short, simple drive from Māngere, Papatoetoe, Onehunga and the suburbs in between, with free parking right outside the door and appointments on Sundays when most practices are closed.
Why the airport location works for South Auckland
Seeing a dentist shouldn't start with twenty minutes hunting for a park. At the Airport Shopping Centre you pull up, park free at the door and walk straight in, no mall carpark, no parking building, no meter. For most of South Auckland the drive is a straight run down George Bolt Memorial Drive or a couple of exits on SH20, and you're usually heading against the traffic rather than sitting in it.
We're also open when you actually have time. The practice runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with Wednesday and Saturday by appointment, so a check-up doesn't have to mean time off work. And with a 4.9 rating on Google, our patients seem to think the trip is worth it.
Māngere & Māngere Bridge
If you're in Māngere town centre or Māngere Bridge, we're probably closer than your nearest mall. It's a straight run down George Bolt Memorial Drive, usually about ten minutes door to door, with free parking waiting at the other end. Plenty of our regulars are Māngere families who book everyone in together.
Favona & Ōtāhuhu
From Favona and Ōtāhuhu most patients either come through Māngere on the local roads or jump on SH20 for a couple of exits. Either way you're looking at roughly fifteen minutes, and because we're open Sundays, it's an easy weekend trip when the week is full.
Papatoetoe & Manukau
Papatoetoe and Manukau sit just across SH20B, and Puhinui Road runs almost straight to our door. That makes a visit realistic in ten to fifteen minutes each way, whether it's a lunchtime appointment or a stop on the way home.
Onehunga, Mt Roskill & Hillsborough
From Onehunga you cross the Māngere Bridge and follow SH20 straight down to the airport. From Mt Roskill and Hillsborough you're on SH20 for almost the whole trip. Most days that's fifteen to twenty minutes, and because you're driving toward the airport rather than into town, the traffic is usually kinder than you'd expect.
Flying in from further away
Some of our patients come from much further afield. Because we're right where the planes land, we're one of the few practices in New Zealand you can genuinely fly to, and we regularly see patients from Great Barrier Island, which has no resident dentist, as well as regional patients passing through Auckland. Who we serve
Families from across South Auckland make up a big part of our week, and eligible teens from school Year 9 up to their 18th birthday can get free basic dental care under the national scheme. Just ask us and we'll help you check eligibility.
Airport and precinct staff get 15% off with their airport ID, and shift workers tell us the Sunday hours are the reason they finally got that check-up done. - Is parking really free?
- Yes. We're inside the Auckland Airport Shopping Centre, which has free parking right outside our door. You won't pay airport terminal parking rates, and you won't circle a mall carpark either.
- How far are you from Māngere?
- About ten minutes. It's a straight run down George Bolt Memorial Drive from Māngere town centre or Māngere Bridge, and you park free at the door when you arrive.
- Do I need to fly to see you?
- Not at all. Most of our patients drive from South and Central Auckland suburbs like Māngere, Papatoetoe and Onehunga. The fly-in service is simply there for patients from places like Great Barrier Island and the regions.
- Are you open on Sundays?
- Yes. We're open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with Wednesday and Saturday available by appointment. Sundays are popular with shift workers and busy families, so it pays to book ahead on 022 852 4000.
- How much will a first visit cost?
- A new-patient exam and X-rays is $79, or $149 including a scale and polish until 31 October 2026. Anything beyond that comes with a written quote first, and Southern Cross Easy-Claim is available.
