Dental check-up & X-rays

A regular check-up is the single most valuable thing you can do for your teeth. It's where we catch the small stuff, a bit of early decay, a hairline crack, the first signs of gum trouble, while it's still cheap and simple to fix, rather than waiting until it becomes a sore tooth and a bigger bill. For new patients, an exam with digital X-rays is $79.

Who a check-up is for

Everyone, honestly. But especially if it's been a while, if something's started to niggle, or if you've just moved to the area and need a new dental home. If you're a new patient, your first visit is the most important one we'll do: it gives us a full baseline of your mouth so we can spot anything that changes down the track.

We see plenty of people who've put the dentist off for years and feel a bit sheepish about it. There's no lecture here. We simply start from where you are and build a sensible plan together.

Overdue a visit? It's easy to put right, and we'll take it from there.

Why the X-rays matter

A good chunk of what affects your teeth happens where the eye can't reach: between teeth, under old fillings, and below the gumline. Digital X-rays let us see those areas clearly, with a very low dose of radiation and an image on screen in seconds. They're how we catch a small cavity before it reaches the nerve, or a problem under a crown before it flares up. We only take the X-rays you actually need, and we'll always talk you through what they show.

How often should you come in?

For most people, every six to twelve months keeps things on track: often enough to catch problems early, without overdoing it. If your gums or teeth need a closer eye, we might suggest coming a little more often for a while; if everything's healthy, we'll happily stretch your visits out. We tailor it to your mouth rather than a one-size-fits-all rule.
