We handle personal and health information under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

If you send an enquiry, we collect the name, phone number, email address and any details you choose to write in the message. We use that solely to reply to you and, if you become a patient, to look after your care.

If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address so we can send occasional practice news and offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and leaving takes one click.

If you book online, the booking runs through our practice management system (Henry Schein EXACT). The details you enter there go into the practice diary and clinical records, and are covered by the same health privacy rules as any visit.

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, how people reach us and where the site could be clearer. It records things like the pages viewed, roughly where in the country the visit came from, and which buttons get used.

Analytics runs with advertising features turned off and IP addresses anonymised, so it is used only to improve the site and never for advertising. If you would rather not be measured, you can block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, or turn on your browser's Do Not Track option.

We never send your name, phone number, email address or any clinical information to Google or any other analytics tool.

Clinical records are kept securely in our practice management system and are only accessible to the clinical team looking after you. We keep dental records for at least 10 years after your last visit, as required in New Zealand.

We share health information only where you have asked us to, where it is needed for your care (for example a referral or a laboratory), or where the law requires it. ACC and WINZ claims are lodged with your knowledge as part of arranging your treatment.

The website runs over HTTPS. Enquiries reach the practice inbox over an encrypted connection, and only the team need it. We do not sell information to anyone, ever, and we do not use patient information for advertising.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and to have anything incorrect fixed. Email hello@supertooth.co.nz or ring the practice and we will help. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
