If you're with Southern Cross, we offer Southern Cross Easy-Claim: swipe your member card at reception and eligible treatment is claimed on the spot, with no forms to post. If you're with another insurer, we'll give you an itemised invoice and receipt so you can claim directly.

What if I can't pay for everything at once?

Talk to us. After your exam you'll get a written, itemised quote, and from there we can often stage treatment over several visits, tackling the most urgent work first and spreading the rest out to suit your budget. If money is tight, you may also be eligible for a WINZ dental grant, and we provide the written quote for that free of charge.

They cover different situations. WINZ dental grants are hardship assistance from Work and Income to help with the cost of dental treatment, and they start with a free written quote from us. ACC is for accidental dental injuries, like a tooth knocked or broken in an accident, and may cover some or all of the treatment cost. Paying at Supertooth Dental is simple. You settle your account at reception on the day of treatment, using whichever way suits you.

There's free parking right outside, and we're open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with Wednesday and Saturday by appointment, so it's easy to fit a visit around work or travel.

Southern Cross Easy-Claim

If you're with Southern Cross, good news: we offer Southern Cross Easy-Claim at reception. For eligible treatment, you simply swipe your Southern Cross member card when you pay, and your claim is processed on the spot. No forms to fill in, no receipts to post, and no waiting around for a refund. You just pay any difference on the day.

What's covered depends on your own policy, so it pays to check your plan before your visit. If you'd like to know whether a treatment is likely to be claimable, ask us when you book and we'll point you in the right direction.

Some treatment plans involve more than one visit, and the total can feel daunting when you see it all at once. If that's you, don't put off care. Talk to us about spreading the cost of larger treatment instead.

From there, Dr Simran Chauhan and the team can often stage your treatment over several visits, dealing with the most important work first and spacing the rest out in a way that suits your budget. Nothing goes ahead until you're comfortable with the plan and the cost.

WINZ dental grants

If money is tight, a Work and Income (WINZ) dental grant may help with the cost of treatment. Work and Income needs a written quote from a dentist before it can consider a grant, and we provide that quote free of charge.

Dental injuries and ACC

If your tooth was damaged in an accident, at home, at work, on the sports field or anywhere else, that's usually a matter for ACC rather than WINZ. ACC may cover some or all of the cost of treating an accidental dental injury.

We're a registered ACC provider, and we lodge the claim for you at the practice, so there's no chasing forms while you're sore. If you've knocked or broken a tooth, call us on 022 852 4000 and we'll get you seen quickly. You can read more on our ACC dental injuries page at /acc-dental.

The prices we publish

We keep pricing simple. Our everyday items have set prices, published here and on our offers page, and everything else gets a written, itemised quote after your examination and before any treatment begins. That's our promise: you'll always know the cost before you're in the chair.

One more thing worth knowing if you have teenagers at home: free basic dental care is available for eligible teens (Year 9 to age 18) under the national Combined Dental Agreement. Eligibility criteria apply, so give us a call to check and to enrol your teen.
